Timings are now live for the UK Railtours Victory Javelin railtour
Each year for the past 5 years, UK Railtours have run a charity javelin railtour using a pair of Southeastern Highspeed Class 395 javelin trains, going to all sorts of unusual places in the South East where these trains are not commonly seen. The train will run in 12 car formation as usual, although it is expected that only 395018 will carry the special poppy branded livery. This year’s Victory Javelin railtour makes its way down into Portsmouth and Southampton.
Southeastern Highspeed ‘javelin’ class 395018 will begin with a fast run along HS 1 from London St Pancras (departing 08:18) to Ashford International (departing 08:57). Following a reversal at Ashford, the train will continue to Paddock Wood, Tonbridge to Redhill where it will reverse again (10.06). Following the reversal, passing through Three Bridges, Horsham, Pulborough, Bognor Regis for third reversal. Then continues back up to Barnham for another reversal before heading to Chichester, Havant, Portsmouth Harbour. The Class 395 will reverse at Portsmouth Harbour, through Farlington junction heading up to Netley and Southampton Central. The return journey is back via the Arun Valley again. Return timings are Redhill (17.04), Ashford International (18.19), St Pancras (19.00).
A variety of commemorative badges and various other items will be available for sale on the train.
