Read our news and blog posts about the 1938 tube stock. The 1938 tube stock was originally used on the London Underground between 1938 and 1988. Since then, most of the 1938 tube trains were transferred over to the Isle of Wight, where they are the sole trains used on the Island Line, operated by SWR.

Today, the 1938 tube stock is run on Isle of Wight between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin. In addition, a preserved 1938TS train is often used on the London Underground on London Transport Museum railtours. You can find information about these art deco tube excursions here.
