See Belmond British Pullman Train in Sussex & Surrey This Saturday 18th May 2019
St Catherine’s Hospice for West Sussex and Surrey, are holding a special event on Saturday 18th May 2019, in which an opportunity to travel on the Belmond British Pullman has arisen.
The train departs Horsham at approximately 0905. Passengers will travel aboard the luxury Belmond British Pullman, sister train of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. During the scenic three hour route via the Brighton Mainline and Surrey, passengers will be served a Bellini Brunch and live music along the way.
Upon arrival at Hampton Court Palace, passengers can enjoy the palace and its beautiful associated gardens and maze, before being welcomed back on board with a glass of Champagne and enjoying an exquisite three course dinner and wine.
The outbound ECS goes to Chichester via Horsham, so you’ll be able to see this train passing Horsham earlier than 0905. The train will kill time in Chichester sidings until it is prepared for service.

Tickets for this exciting excursion cost £420 per person and this includes entry into Hampton Court Palace. This price does not come as a suprise, as Belmond often run excursions across the South throughout the year in this price range.

Saturday 18th May would make a great day out in London for many, as it will also see the final passenger train to be hauled by the retiring GWR HST Class 43, leave London Paddington station. In addition, Greater Anglia will also be operating a special excursion train for their retiring class 37 hauled trains. Greater Anglia Class 37 Railtour will run from Norwich, around Essex to London Liverpool Street and return. This is prior to the introduction of new ‘Flirt’ and ‘Aventra’ trains which replace the older rolling stock, including the class 37s.

I’ve been lucky enough to have travelled on the Belmond British Pullman a number of times. It’s a beautiful train, both inside and out and the cuisine and service on board is amazing. Just a great way to travel in style.
