Rare Chance to Travel Onboard London Transport 4TC
UK Railtours are offering the opportunity to travel on the London Transport 4-TC Electric Multiple Unit Class 438
The Ye Olde Black Friar railtour will give rail enthusiasts the rare chance to travel on this historic train, which will be top and tailed by GB Railfreight’s Class 73/1 locomotives.
The railtour excursion runs Saturday 30th March 2019, and departs London Blackfriars railway station at around 0830 in the morning. The train runs to Cannon Street where it will reverse and head to Hayes via London Bridge. Following reversal at Hayes, the train will run back to London Bridge and then to Bromley North. After Bromley North, the 4TC unit will head to Angerstein Wharf, Dartford, Paddock Wood, Tonbridge and up to Redhill where the train will reverse at Purley. Heading south to Tattenham Corner where the train will reverse and head back to Purley and Tulse Hill. The Class 438 4TC unit will then run to Wimbledon, Virginia Water, Kensington Olympia and back to London Blackfriars, estimated to return at around 1925.
This is an opportunity not to be missed, as the London Transport 4TC unit very rarely ventures to these parts of London, Kent and the South East. Due to the limit number of seats (190), seats are expected to sell out fast. You can book your seat on the UK Railtours website.
Hi I am a volunteer with the Network SouthEast Railway Society and I would like to know how I can apply for tickets for this railtour
Regrettably, the tour is now fully booked. You can request to join the waiting list and, should there be any cancellations, possibly get a seat. You can contact them on the UK Railtours website.
