Hi Lee, yes the photos were taken from through a fence. Just opposite the small bridge that crosses the creek after going over the footbridge just a short walk from Newhaven harbour station. The zebra crossing hasn’t always been there, but it’s been a few years since it was installed. No public access yet however.
Nice one Mark, do you have any photos of it? I only get 1 DB loco a week at my local but should give me something to look forward to…I still need PD ports one too but that always seems to be up in tees area
I understand quite a few of GBs 66s are in store until the Coronavirus blows over, I guess they’ll wait until everything is back to normal before reintroducing the stored 66s along with the 6679x locos , but as you say, I think for the time being things have halted
Some days might have more freight than others, but you’re better off running a freight search at RAYNES PARK rather than HAydons Road, because Network Rail only give us timings for major passing points. Haydons Road is a minor passing point so searching for Raynes Park and maybe Wimbledon would be better 🙂
There’s a landslide between Redhill and Tonbridge, so 4 of them are stabled at Horsham with SITT sets because they can’t go SITT via Redhill anymore. The 4 at Horsham will probably be back at Tonbridge in about 2 months maybe longer.
So 4 are at Horsham whilst the rest are at Tonbridge. The 73/9s are usually on test train or stabled in the yard. Here’s a tops pool for today showing their whereabouts.

I’m afraid you’ve probably just missed them as they’re really only used for SITT and RHTT, the rest of the time they’re sat at Tonbridge West Yard (has a footbridge over it so you’d probably be able to tick them all off at once!) Your be best coming down here during RHTT season then you’d see them all out and about 🙂

Thanks Mark, updated 59206 livery.
Newhaven town signal box still there Monday morning
I don’t think these trains have wide doors unfortunately Arthur, so you’d have to speak with staff to see if the ramps fit.
Hi David, the post has been updated to reflect 10/02/20 Wensleydale railway move. Kind Regards
Hi Chris
Rail Record live train times shows (for major passing points) freight trains throughout the day.
If you run a search for freight trains at Wimbledon it would suggest it was probably the Tolworth to Cliffe
This was Wimbledon freight trains Thurs 6/2 https://live.rail-record.co.uk/live.php?t=WIMBLDN&d=2020-02-06&f=on&w=on&o=on&s=on&x=on
