GBRf 66773 Receives New Livery

GBRf 66773 to be named this week

Brighton Pride takes place this weekend, which sees GBRf’s class 66 number 66773 named “Pride of GB Railfreight”.

66773 has been undercover in the paint shop at Eastleigh Arlington for the past week.

The locomotive is in standard GBRf livery, with rainbow font colour on GBRf, rainbow flags on front left cab, and GB Railfreight overlined & underlined with rainbow. Cab doors also have rainbows.

Many other trains have seen a LBGT related livery, such as Govia Thameslink’s 700155 and numerous class 377 Southern pride branded logos.

This follows a number of recent locomotive relivieries, by freight operating companies, namely 66747 into NWT livery, Freightliner’s 66587 into As One We Can livery, and DB Cargo’s 66109 into PD Ports livery.

66773 will work 0Y65 Eastleigh Arlington to Brighton on Friday 2nd July 2019, where it will be named in platform 1. The locomotive then returns on 0Y66 back to Eastleigh a short time later.

It’s unlikely the platform will be closed off to the public so there’s no reason why you wouldn’t be allowed to attend the naming ceremony.

*Whilst we can’t guarantee the name or locomotive number until some formal confirmation is made, it’s safe to assume so, as it has been in Eastleigh Arlington paint shop all week so most likely for the purpose of being repainted. Given the timing with pride 2019 and the spontaneous nature of the light engine move.
